Question about RAM usage and performance.

Go to solution Solved by TopplesS,

Nope, once the RAM hits 100% used then it will start using the HDD (virtual memory) and that's when sh*t gets slow.

Nowadays if you reach max RAM you can just whack $50 on a new set and have more available.

My question is for example if you had 10GB of RAM and your system was using a total of 5GB (Using 50% of your total system memory)  would it be running slower compared to if you had 20GB of RAM and were using only 25%?

Btw i have 8GB RAM and i do understand that 8GB is enough for general usage and gaming but i multi-task a lot on my computer so i was curious if your system speed is effected by the percentage usage of your total RAM.

Percentage doesn't matter. Basically, you'll run the same if you have enough ram to run everything you need.

The more ram you have, the more things you can do at once.
