buying a overclocking cpu is not worth it in my opinion ....... as u need to spend min. 9k for just a little increase in gaming performance ...... go with i5 6600 and gtx 1060 ...... when u need more performance sell gtx 1060 and get gtx 1070

I am planning to make a gaming pc, my budget is around 75k to 80k ( Indian rupees).I have started by selecting MSI Z170 pro as the motherboard for Intel i5 6th gen chip. Is this a good choice or should I reconsider ,help me with the ram and graphic card also.(will need os-windows)

prices in india are high compared to US u might have already figured it out ....

where you live in india? ..... if you live in metro cities you can find stores which sell pc parts, there u can find some good deals, for ex. if you live in delhi go to nehru place and if you live in mumbai go to lamington road.

if you can't buy offline then buy from ....

primeabgb.com

mdcomputers.in

itdepot.com

golchhait.com

itwares.com

for 80k gaming build go with this ....

1) CPU -- i5 6600k (18k)

2) CPU cooler -- cooler master hyper 212x (2.8k on primeabgb.com)

3) motherboard -- z170 (price varies from 12-20k depending on which features u want)

4) ram -- 8gb single stick ddr4 (3-4k) .... u can add another 8gb stick if you want to.

5) graphics card -- nvidia gtx 1060 6gb or amd rx 480 8gb for (21-23k)

6) hard disk -- depends on how much storage u want 1tb western digital blue (is for 3.5k)

7) ssd -- samsung 750evo (5,100₹ on primeabgb.com)

8) power supply -- get a good quality power supply 500-550w like corsair cs550m (for 6k)

9) cabinet -- whichever u like with rest money .....

good luck .... and don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Tim serious thx alot man, i can really relate to you know.

I am from Mumbai will visit lamington road.

Only one question about the graphic card , can i use 1050ti(4gb) instead of 1060 cause the price then will reduce by 8k to 9k. I was also planning to use i5 6500.

ok if you want to buy i5 6500 then u have to keep some things in mind .....

1) u cannot overclock it !!

2) so u don't need to buy the hyper 212x cooler, as the cooler comes in box with the processor.

3) u also do not need a z170 motherboard, u can buy the gigabyte b150 motherboard (will cost 7-8k)

4) also u don't need to buy higher than 2133mhz ddr4 ram ..... but sometimes 2400mhz or higher ram is cheaper than 2133mhz ram, so u can use that also it will just run at 2133mhz , no problem.

So your price will reduce to 10k just by using i5 6500 from i5 6600k ...... what is your new budget i can recommend what to buy.

So the i5 6500 will be overclocked with the msi motherboard?

See I am student so the budget is decided by my dad ,in accordance of my +12 performance. So the min. my dad can give me is 50k , i can take it up to 70k.

no only i5 6600k and i7 6700k (the ones that end with k) can be overclocked ...... so you cannot overclock i5 6500 on any motherboard.

you really don't need to overclock to get a good gaming performance ...... if you want good gaming performance get a good graphics card ..... cpu does not matter that much.

----> for 50k get this

1) i3 6100 (8-8.5k) [comes with cooler in box]

2) h110 motherboard (4-4.5k)

3) ram - cheapest 8gb ddr4 single stick u can find (3k).

4) gtx 1060 3gb (17k)

5) 1 tb western digital blue (3.5k)

6) ssd Samsung 750 evo 256 gb (5k)

7) good power supply 400-450w (4-5k)

8) cabinet with rest money.

----> for 55k

keep everything as 50k but change i3 6100 to i5 6402p

----> for 60k

keep everything as 55k but change gtx 1060 3gb to gtx 1060 6gb.

----> for 65k

keep Everything as 60k but change i5 6402p to i5 6600

----> for 70k

keep everything as 65k and u can spend a bit more on extra ram or b150 motherboard (7-8k) or good cabinet or good power supply or fans etc.
