Dead mouse

Hey folks,

I've got the Logitech mouse you see below, it was a rather pricy one (don't remember the exact name) with black laser tech (which doesn't work 'on nearly every surface, even glass' as advertised, more like 'only on glass').

The mouse itself is actually still functioning, but the USB receiver needs half an hour of wiggling before it decides to work, if it decides to work...

Can someone tell me if it's possible to get it fixed somewhere or somehow buy a new one and get it to work with my mouse or is it a lost case? I already went to an electronics shop and asked them about it but the poor saleslad had no idea...

Any help is much appreciated :)
