R9-290x Backplate Availability

So I say today that the Ek R9-290x waterblock is now available on frozencpu, but the backplate is still not posted.

 

I am kinda tempted just to get the waterblock now and the backplate later on, since I dont want to get the graphics card and have to wait for the waterblock before I can put it in my system. So I want to get the waterblock asap. Also kinda worried it will be out of stock too soon.

 

But, this will cost more cause then I have to pay double the shipping. So I was wondering how long do you think it will take for the backplate to pop up now that the waterblock is there.

 

Also I really prefer not to buy from EK store cause then I have to probably pay like $60 for shipping. However, if there is any other North American, perferably Canadian Store, that you know has the waterblock and backplate both available please let me know.

You may have to disassemble the GPU to fit the GPU backplate. Which means youw ill have to drain your loop unless you are very careful.

Is there usually a long delay in between waterblocks being released and backplates being released?

If I would have known its in the USA (or Canada) I would have ordered there...

 

but I ordered off the EK store yesterday.

 

now that I look at frozen cpu, the acetal version is sold out....which is what I ordered.

 

I paid $150 total.

 

 

If the backplate was available I would have got it too.....guess I'll wait til I can get it online in Canada (or US)

 

 

My plan was to get the block asap as who knows if/when it sells out how long it may be unavailable

 

I don't plan on putting it on right away....but I got an extra 240 XP rad, tubing, fittings and coolant on standby when I decide to expand my H220

I just checked and the ek store does have it in stock.....its just in the backplate section....I didn't realize

Just yoloed it and got it from the ek store. lol

 

Dont want to have to wait on backplate and waterblock while I have the 290x in my hand. would probably die of impatientence
