No signal

I just finished building my pc and its not sending a signal to my monitor.

Parts -

MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8GB

MSI Z170A Gaming M3 Motherboard

Intel i7 6700K

 

On the motherboard there are lights that display whether there is a problem or not, the VGA light it on.

did you plug it into your graphics card, not your gpu?

plugged in pcie power?

plugged in cpu power?

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.
