Hi, My friend is coming over to play some games but he doesn't have a pc to bring.

I have some parts laying around to build a decent pc

a10-5800k apu

8gb Crucial ddr3 ram

some gigabyte motherboard

HD 5770

550w psu

and a 1tb harddrive

My pc is

i5 6600k

r9 390

ASUS Z170-K

1tb HDD

120gb ssd

750w psu

8gb Corsair DDR4 ram.

I was wondering if it would be more worth it to let him use the apu pc

or if i should try the 2 gamers 1 cpu.

I feel like building the 2nd pc would be better but i'm not sure.

sorry if this is the wrong sub.

I would try the 2 gamers 1 CPU and if it doesn't work out do the 2nd PC, but I'm pretty sure you need 2 graphics cards to use a virtual machine(Don't quote me on this I dont know for sure it just makes more sense to me) P.S. I have very little experience with this.

For sure just build another computer, 2 gamers 1 cpu is a major pain in the ass. Plus, you need like a xeon w/ 8 cores and you would need to create 2 VM's and share the GPU, which would not work. Just build the pc and buy a mid range gpu for the second pc, I suggest maybe a 1050 or 1050ti.

Sorry, I didn't see the HD 5770. Just build the second PC and buy some used 1080p monitor. I got my dell one in great condition (used) for around $70 with a DP cable too.

Also, buy a 120gb ssd and windows to put onto your second pc. You have to have a ssd if you want any good performance in terms of loading thing up. Heres a link to $20 dollar key and an ssd.

I've got a second 16:10 1680x1050 monitor he can use so that's no problem

I've got a copy of Windows 7 aswell so that's not a problem either

I won't be buying an ssd since it will only be used when he's here

I don't think i need anymore help but Thanks anyway.

am I suppose to flag this post as done or something?
