I came home to Europe(Serbia) for vacation, and my dad bought me new 1070..
The question is, should i transport it as it is, new in the box, or open the box and threw it away, or maybe fold box and bring it..
I feel bad to throw away such a nice packing..
What do u guys think,, are they gonna charge me the tax...
I would say i had brought it from USA for work purposes and im bringing it back,, who would be crazy to buy GPU in Europe when its 30% cheaper in USA (well my dad i guess :D )

anyone had similar experience.. i have flight in 12 hours so pls be quick guys :D
please dont say dumb shit if u didnt have good or bad previous experience

Keep the box.

The box has plenty of padding in it to protect your GPU

Never transport it out of the original box, AND NEVER EVER transport it when installed in a case.

The forces excerted on it during travel can break the PCIe connector

Keep it in it's box, if you are concerned, wrap the box in bubble wrap and place it in a bigger box. , and then do that again, and again, and again...

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

what about them making me pay tax for it? thx for replies guys

Youre Serbian, (so am I) surely you have brought some rakija, kajmak or kulen home before without claiming it. Same principle applies :)

That being said, chances are extremely low that a GPU is something that they would take notice of.

EDIT, not sure what USA's import guidelines are but you should also be allowed to bring in gifts totalling to a certain value without paying any taxes. Undercut the value a little bit when claiming it if you need to, they aren't gonna pull up newegg or amazon and start looking at values. Be like value:$200 if youre really scared of not claiming it at all.

When in doubt, re-format.
