Is there any way I can build or design a custom HB SLI bridge?

There are many aftermarket ones. I personally really like the EVGA one.  I think the logo plate is removable, so if you have access to a CNC you could in theory design your own with a custom logo.

Mmmmm... I don't know about making one from scratch (unless you have the skills) but you could give it a paint job? Besides that you could buy one of the other companys' bridges ex: EVGA and MSI have one.

well a lot of SLI bridges have a shroud over the physical hardware to make it look better. some of them can be screwed off and on. If you had something like a 3D printer, or if you are a decent modder, you could make something that could mount to those same screw holes and mount it that way.
