New Headset/Headphones

bgibbz

Hey, so basically my HyperX Cloud 2s bit the dust a couple of days ago, and do to the fact that the warranty lasts only 6 months ( the headphones are 7 months old :| ) I am unable to RMA them. I'm looking for a new pair of headphones + mic or a headset (whichever would be better for the cost).

My requirements -

  1. Flexible 100$ budget
  2. Leather earcups preffered
  3. closed back
  4. 3.5mm connector
  5. 2+M cable
  6. Detachable cable preffered

I play games more than I listen to music, and I am far from an audiophile, but I would certainly apreciate it if the headphones sounded good for listening to music.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

Although for gaming they're not very comfortable for gaming. This is exactly what I use and it's great, but I use these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OLKV5Q8/ref=twister_B00OLMHCOU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I can wear them all day basically.

+1 for the M40X w/mic and brainwavz pads. Definitely a good thing to go for with a headset at this point.

Yeah, I'm thinking I will probably go for that. My friend runs that setup and it works great for him, just wanted to double check that those were still a good option.

Never thought about wearing third party earcups. I'm thinking this is what I will do; get the m40x and a clip on mic with those earcups.

*pads, not earcups :)

Earcups are the hard plastic bit that goes around the back of the driver. What you'd be replacing there is just the earpads.
