Upgrade from g2030 to i7 2600

Hi guys, 

So i've been looking at the i7 2600 lately because i want to upgrade from my g2030. They have the same socket, so i don't need to buy a new motherboard. Here in Romania the i7 costs 600 ron (150 usd) and i can sell the g2030 for 50 dollars. I don't know if the performance is worth it. Maybe you can illuminate me. I don't think i really want a new mobo and processor, but the g2030 shows 100% in task manager too often.

I don't game a lot, but I use my computer for browsing. But the antimalware uses 40-50% when it runs. 

Could you tell me if i should buy the i7 or not, considering it is now 5 years old.

For my build that I did this august I bought the i5 2500k from ebay for around £75 (~$90, ~375 ron) and it performs very well. while you would see an increase in performance going to a newer chip if you don't need to switch out the motherboard i'd suggest picking up an i5 since the tasks you've listed won't really benefit much from the extra threads of the i7.

 

i'd go for it, but some other opinions would be nice ;p

its still a good choice even for its age. get the i7.
