Im Building a PC

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on building a PC in about 8 weeks. I have a budget of about $1,150 AUD (including monitor, software, keyboard and mouse) This is my list of what I intend to buy so far:

Cougar MX310 Mid-Tower Case - Black - $65

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory Black HX421C14FBK2/8 - $69.99

WD WD10EZEX 1TB Blue 3.5” 7200RPM SATA3 Hard Drive - $68.99

Corsair VS Series 550W Power Supply - $65

DeepCool XFAN 120 120mm 1300RPM Black Fan (x2) - $11.98

ASUS DRW-24D5MT 24x Internal DVD Burner - $19

TP-LINK TL-WN851ND Wireless N300 PCI Adapter - $22

And Windows 10 ($45 AUD)

All up it's $1,099.94 (not including Windows 10)

If anyone can make any sussgestions to make it cheaper, please do. I still want it to be good.

Although my budget is $1,150, I want to save as much as possible to make a good gaming
computer. I am planning on
taking away the keyboard and mouse as my friend might offer me a set that only cost $30
(saving $25). I also intend on downgrading my motherboard and I might get an i3 instead of i5
becuase my graphics card perfectly fits the i3... I might also find a cheaper case.

Also on the website I am buying from, if I buy the i5 I get free shipping but this isn't the case for
the i3. When I last checked, the i3 cost $60 less than the i5 which means if my shipping excee-
ds $60 dollars, then essentially i'm getting a free upgrade to the i5. At this point in time I have
not checked how much shipping would cost with the i3 (as I am on a train typing this [I pre
loaded this page so the typing works]) but I certainly will and will keep you updated in the
comments.

I am planning to only play a few games on it. (overwatch, csgo etc.)
(probably more) so this allows space for down-gradement.

If anyone has any suggestions on things to change or games that I should play, then please tell
me them as I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
PCBUILDER101

do NOT pay $180 for a 750 Ti. I would look at prices for the RX 460 4GB. It has slightly better performance for about the same normal price ($120ish)

don't recommend this unless absolutely necessary. bad cooling performace. probably better off with a reference unit.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

It's $38AUD + $1.50 buyer protection. You can change the currency at the top left corner.

i5-6500 + RX 460 Red/Black themed

+better PSU, only 450W but the whole system won't consume more than 275W anyway

+IPS panel monitor, more accurate colors and wider viewing angles

Alternate suggestion, probably the one I'd go with:

i5-6400 / GTX 1060 3G all theme - http://i.imgur.com/kwVLuRh.png

+significantly faster GPU, 60+ fps guaranteed in 1080p games @ high/ultra settings

-smaller mATX mobo, still has all the slots you need (if you plan on adding more fans to your case you'll need a fan hub)

-$1099 without keyboard and mouse, take your friend's $30 offer

Avoid the Corsair VS psu, the one in my build maybe more expensive while having lesser wattage but it's better quality.

750ti is too weak to follow the time. If I were you, I would buy a used card like r9 280 or earn more money to have rx 480.

Any thoughts on my parts list? Parts were picked in the same store you're looking browsing at.

Btw, I wouldn't recommend a 4GB RX 460 as the the card won't be even powerful enough to make use of 4gb of VRAM. It's considerable if the price difference with the 2gb is minimal but it's $50 AUD.

You should probably just ditch the 460 and go with this build:

i5-6400 + GTX 1060 3G

Runs every game at 1080p high settings no problem
