Every time you post a new spec it seems to get worse :S

Something like this would be much better. A 1440p IPS G-Sync monitor for gaming on. You can add a couple of other monitors for your side ones.

Drop the psu down to 550W if you don't plan on SLI.

Case is personal so if you prefer the Cooler Master then stick with that.

Actually it varies per motherboard. The one he picked there actually uses DDR3.

Skylake can use both and it's up to the motherboard producer to decide whether to go with DDR3 or DDR4. There's quite a few of the low-budget Z170 boards that have DDR3 slots.

I'd go with the Pro gaming motherboard and DDR4 as mentioned by lee32uk though.

DDR 3L it can use not other DDR3

According to ASUS it does. What it doesn't is support DDR4. (At least this Z170 P D3 model... the Z170 Pro gaming is a simple DDR 4 model).

If you're going by the 'Intel specsheet' about 75% of the RAM being used in the builds here isn't supported...

For what say 16gb of ddr4 ram cost ( well here in the  uk ) I see no reason to go for ddr3

Certainly.

Just go with the Z170 Pro gaming motherboard, get that Corsair DDR4 kit you just mentioned (it's good stuff) and you've got yourself a solid platform.

i am just gonna stick with ddr3 cheap but not better than ddr4 but great prices and more common

You had a 4000 dollar budget...and now you're suddenly starting to cheap out on the motherboard and memory?

Honestly, just go with the Z170 pro gaming. If that set of corsair memory is too expensive, go for cheaper DDR4; the differences aren't huge between a 2400 mhz and a 3000 mhz kit. Generally (at least over here) middle of the road DDR4 is cheaper than middle of the road DDR3.

And what's the point in having a competition for the best build when you're going to butcher it afterwards by suddenly throwing in the crappiest motherboard and swapping in DDR3?

Really... we're just trying to educate you to steer you away from completely wasting your (well...your parents) money. I honestly couldn't give 2 shits if in the end you decide to listen to it or not.

Either you read, listen and learn (not just from us, but from reading all over the place), or you don't and just...well.. throw away your money.

If this is too difficult for you, go to a professional store and pay the premium to have them help you on this.

Personally I'd go with a 3000 Mhz RAM kit at most instead of the 4000 mhz kit. Most motherboards don't even support 4000 mhz ram. The differences in performance are marginal compared to the large price difference. 16 GB of quality RAM shouldn't really cost you more than a 100-ish dollars.
