Okay so about a month ago now I started running into problems when playing any pc game. This problem was my screen turning black at game start up (computer still running for about 5-15 sec) and then restarting. After consulting some people, it was recommended for me to get a new PSU (at the time I had a EVGA NEX 650G). So I went and bought one and put off installing until i felt I needed to. Of course, I'm getting ready to play a competitive Counter Strike game and my computer does what I explained before. I had an hour so I decided to swap PSU. When I finished, my computer never turned on again. I realized I broke some JUSB pins so I sent my motherboard in for repair (hoping that for some reason this is the issue) and was sent back what seemed to be a already refurbished one (I don't know how MSI officially fixes their motherboards. Whether the send you an already refurbished one or just fix the one you sent them). Once I plugged everything up again it still ceases to turn on. I went through this thread here:

tested my PSU and reset my cmos and the same issue occurred (PSU was functional). Any help would be appreciated. I'll define a few more things specifically below:

What I mean by "turn on" usually referring to "wont turn on" aka my issue: everything is plugged in appropriately and when I flip my power switch on the power light on motherboard lights up but not on my case. If I hold the power button Clear CMOS light turns on. No fans were spinning during any of this.

When I first put together the build (about a year ago) I had the same issue. The solution to it that time was not having my seagate barracuda plugged into my PSU. I never got my computer to turn on with it plugged in (I was told it had something to do with my boot order but I just gave up and never plugged it in again).

Again any help would be so greatly appreciated. This is my first post and I don't have any local computer shops near me to help so I thought I'd go to the best forums for this c: thank you!

I know it sounds like a pain, as you probably have everything installed in the case, but I would pull out your mobo and do what linus calls a boot test: put your mobo on your mobo box, with your CPU, cooler, and ram in, and see if it will POST. Slowly plug things in one by one, testing the boot each time. the GPU, then your boot drive to see if it will boot to windows, then plug in both drives and see if you can select in your BIOS which to select as a boot drive. etc until you have everything plugged back in.

jk X99 doesnt have onboard graphics so use your GPU in the initial test also

Also make sure none of your CPU socket pins are bent

Okay so just to clarify plug my GPU RAM CPU And cooler into my MOBO and plug my monitor in to test if it will "post" then plug in slowly everything else which is just my two Ssd correct?

UPDATE: so I've learned whenever I plug in my ssd (either of them) it won't turn on. I plugged in my case via sata cables and the fans and such start spinning and power on so it has something to do with my ssd assuming it's something with my boot order

OKay I fixed it! My cables weren't combatsble with my PSU so I just used the cables it came with

Good job. I would never really recommend using other cables anyways, but glad to hear it works now and hope nothing was damaged :)

Okay now I need help again if you have an answer. So I mentioned the first and original problem in the original post. Well it's happening again. I was casually playing rocket league and then my computer just shuts off and restarts. What does this mean and how do I fix it? My GPU seems to be relatively hot if it were to be overheating would that happen? I have a NZXT H340 case with the original two fans and I don't OC so i don't know why my graphics card would be overheating. Any help again would greatly be appreciated

original problem came up again.
Okay so about a month ago i started having this problem. When i would start any game my computer would just restart itself. Now after replacing the power supply in hopes for that to fix the problem it still occurs. Now even if im watching twitch my computer black screens and restarts. My gpu seems a bit hot but doesnt seem to be overheating but that has to be the issue right? I just need any kind of help, Thank you

i forgot to mention that i sent my motherboard to be repaired (broken pins) and msi seemed to send me a refurbished mb (im assuming) so i figured that would eliminate my MB being the issue.
