I installd Windows Server Backup to day and whas thinking it can backup to my NAS and whas forced to use a username and password at the begining. So i whas like "Sure why not, no problem"

and then when i try to use the name i did creat on the NAS (Note its ON THE NAS) and got this stupid error!

 

OFC ITS NOT ON THE WINDOWS MACHIN! ITS ON THE REMOTE FOLDER.....

 

ANYWAY, anyone know way to get around it or something els?

Because of the way Windows Server Backup works, the username you eneter MUST exist either on the local computer, or in the Active Directory domain. If the username is a local account, it must be a Local Administrator (part of the Administrators group on the machine). If the account is in AD, it must be a member of the Backup Admins group. The reason for this is that the username isn't just used to access the remote share, the entire backup operation runs under the account you put in.
