I have been having some strange sound issues with my Logitech G35 headphones and Spotify.

Basically, when I launch certain programmes, like X-Plane 10 and Far Cry 4 and I have music playing through Spotify, the music will stop and I will not be able to play any music again without restarting my PC, simply restarting Spotify/closing FC4 doesn't help. What confuses me slightly is that YouTube videos and other sound sources are not affected by this problem, it's just Spotify.

If I start XP10 and have music playing, the music will stop and all sound in X-Plane will stop working. Even if I restart my PC, there is no sound. I have checked the game's sound settings and window's own settings, and everything is turned up/unmuted. The sound in other programs is perfectly fine, however. I have managed to fix it (i.e. get the sound back) by re-installing the drivers (Logitech Gaming Software) for my G35s, which is why I think they might be the issue. This only happens in XP10, as far as I know.

I'm running Windows 10 64-bit, upgraded from Win 8, with the latest versions of Spotify and Logitech Gaming Software. I think the upgrade might have caused some pretty deep issues, so I'm considering resetting and re-installing my entire PC.

Does anyone else have this issue? I've done some searching around and have only found one other case like this, which is yet unsolved. All help is appreciated.

UPDATE: Spotify now stops working even if I switch to it after starting FC4, which it didn't do earlier. Well, at least it's some progress.

“sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic still going to require driver rollbacks when it stops working for no reason“
