The LEDs are probably connected in series so if one burns out, the entire series goes. The fact that they didn't all go out just means they're not all in one series. Generally speaking it's bad practice to put LEDs in series, but it's kind of the only way to create a long line of them for cheap. Replacing the one bad LED or resistor should fix the issue. Was it kinked or coiled? LED strips tend to burn out faster if they are because the heat from several LEDs focus on one point.

i dont really know if theyre "kinked" or "coiled" how do i find out?

I meant how it was installed. Kink is a sharp angle and coil is when the strip is rolled up. Any place where the strip is mushed up against itself is problematic because the heat won't get to radiate away properly.
