Ok so I'm planning on making some soundtracks, I need a program (preferably a free one for the start, but do tell paid ones too) for editing sound recordings. I'm a noob with this so basically what I need it to have or at least if I could use multiple programs for this:

- audio recording (my guitar, sadly right now just a random desktop mic but it's a start)

- audio editing (well yeah...)

- some way to get other sounds, stuff like drums primarily but if there could be some more stuff that'd be cool, tho I don't have drums to record so is there a way to download (free?) tracks or a program that has some so I can make somehting out of it? Not like keep just one beat going, but to compose something with the drums too

also any tips or anything? I don't know a thing about this but I really want to try and make my own stuff

Audacity as mentioned above is a good lightweight program that is free and should cover most of your needs. you will need a second program for drum beats. A quick search on drum beats (will give you loop samples and other stuff for FL, Ableton etc) you will find stuff like drum bot (online beat maker)
