Power Supply Recommendations

Holy crap that's awesome and super easy to use. Ya'll have been a great help, thanks so much!

Hello all,

I have a Corsair CX750 80+ bronze power supply in my rig. Finally figured out that it is the reason for this god awful whining noise anytime I put the machine under load. This wouldn't be as much of a problem, but generally I play at night while the girlfriend is asleep, and I would rather have a quieter setup. Any recommendations on a good power supply where I won't have to worry about whining? I would prefer fuller modular, and something that would go with a red/black theme.

Thanks!

Coil whine is luck of the draw. If you want no noise then a Seasonic fanless unit is your best bet.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Dang, if coil whine is so common, does that mean most manufacturers will no be willing to replace a power supply for that reason alone?

XFX Has some quiet PSUs

Thanks, just gave those guys a quick look, I definitely like the aesthetics. Seems like many others agree with you on the quality. I would probably want to pick up some custom cables if I got one. I know some power supplies have very specific cables, so would it be hard to track down some custom cabling for these guys?
