2 days ago the PC froze solid and had to do cold boot. Ever since when i boot it, i don't get any POST, even though the machine is powered and fans are running.

The VGA-LED light it Lit solid RED. Thought maybe the Video card has gone bad. Booted the machine without the VC and got the same solid Red light.

Cleared the CMOS but still same thing. I have not yet tried taking the MB out of the case and booting with bare minimum.

Core i7 950 LGA 1366

Sabetooth X58 MB

Try booting with the bare minimum. It may not be the video card, but that the system is hanging when it is trying to read the card or it can't recognize the card.

Will do. I am also thinking it may not be the Card since its doing the same thing if move the Video card to another PCI-E slot.

Still NO GO.

Took the CPU out from the socket and checked for any BENT PINS but did not find anything.

Any other suggestions guys????

VGA_LED

Points to the Graphics card -- no GPU is detected.

Either:

  1. GPU is not seated properly
  2. GPU is dead
  3. PCI-Express slot where the GPU is bad
