Posted October 1, 2016 Finally had an issue with a Ubiquiti networking product I have a ERX in a pretty simple setup, just taking one WAN in on eth0, eth1-4 are switched, and I have a 8 port switch going to the rest of the wired devices and one access point. Internet went down for every device except for one computer which was on the ERX switched port, if I moved it over to the 8 port switch it would loose internet. The ERX was not pingable (nor could I SSH in), would not assign DHCP addresses, but if I set a static address and plugged into one of the ERX switched ports I could talk to devices on the 8 port switch just fine. Essentially everything locally was working except for DHCP, with the kicker being that only ONE computer had internet access, and it was using the ERX's IP as the DNS server. I did verify on the other computers that I could not ping external IPs either in case DNS was the issue. This same thing happened a few days after I originally installed the ERX close to a year ago and I just assumed it was fluke, so I re-setup the network and saved a config. I wasn't sure what else I could do to trouble shoot this time around so I just reset to default settings, reloaded the config, and everything came back up. While not a huge issue should it only happen yearly, I'd still prefer it never went down like this... anyone familiar with EdgeRouters who has heard of something similar and might know what happened?
