Hi,

I'm planning on upgrading my PC in the next 2 Weeks. And I'm searching for an CPU Air Cooler to fit into this built.

What I'm gonna buy:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K 4x 4.00GHz So.1151 WOF
  • Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming M5 Intel Z170 So.1151 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX Retail
  • RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX black DDR4-3000 DIMM CL15 Dual Kit

So an average new build.

I'm looking for an Air Cooler for my CPU.

It's height has to be below 17cm (Case) and it should be as quiet as possible.

The main reason, why I am asking is I don't want the CPU Cooler to Block Slot 1 of the DRAM Slots. I know, that you insert your RAM into DIMM 2 and 4 first, but i want the opportunity to upgrade my RAM if needed in the future (Content Creation). The price should be around 50€

Sorry for replying late,

I'm in Germany and gonna buy it online at mindfactory.de .

I watched into the nh-d15 from noctua, and i think i'll get this one, due to it's ram compatibility und performance. On their Website they write, that the M5 ist compatible and there are noch issues with blocking one of the M5's PCI-e or RAM Slots.

It's hard to go wrong with the NH-D15.

If the money isn't any issue, feel free to go with it.

well since the NH-D15 is already listed I will say the dark rock pro 3, by be quiet. almost identical cooling as the noctua one but (IMO) looks a lot better. it is pretty large though  123 x 133 x 163mm . the cooler will hang over the ram so you will need to install the ram first and you can't use tall ram. but I think your ram will be fine

The DRP3 is closer to the NH-D14 or NH-U14S than the NH-D15.
