ive been playing rust for a while and love the game, and i want to make a rust  server but i dont think my pc would be good enough

currently i have an  fx 6300, gtx 750, 8gb ram, 240gb ssd and 1tb hard drive

i was just wondering what specs would you recommend to run a decent server and how much storage would i need and stuff like that also would it be better to run in linux or just windows?

thanks.

you dont need alot of space its pretty much the same as the game. 8gb of ram should be ok for you and a few friends maybe more if you run other game servers on the same pc. some high clocked quad core is good 3GHz +

what if i wanted it to be a  proper server with like 50+ players  on

i would get one of these a normal case is ok is a bit wider than EATX

http://ebay.to/2cy8wQW

and some ddr3 udimm 4gb arent too exspensive

http://ebay.to/2czCwkv

and a 5660 xeon they are a six core and are priced well i would start off with one and just watch cpu usage durring peaks to figure out if you need annother

http://ebay.to/2dfQT9w

and a cpu cooler a cooler master 103 they dont hant out to far to get in the way of things

also as a side note a 700w psu or higher is required as the motherboard test on startup if its less it wont turn on

i had mine out as i was changing hardware20160927_210144.jpg
