Hey guys, so I am thinking about making a 2 in 1 computer build similar to the Linus made here

so that my little brother and enjoy co-op PC gaming without having to deal with any spacing compromises and I was thinking if the AMD FX-8350 also being a 8 core CPU and cheaper than the I7 6700K that they used here.

Thank you for answering :)

The AMD is much less powerfull than the 6700k. But if you are not planning to do any proffesional work like rendering, video editing etc. and your inteded use is 90% gaming it could be a good alternative, as long as you dont buy too high end gpu that would get bottlenecked by the cpu :) (like 1070,1080 in this case)

ASUS Maximus VII Hero | i7 4790K OC 4.8GHZ | 4x8GB 2400MHz MSI GTX 1070 alphacool eiswolf gpx pro
Samsung 850 EVO 520GB + Corsair 525gb + 275gb SSD  2TB Seagate Barracuda | 8TB Seagate Archive

Cooler Master HAF-X 942 | EVGA Supernova 1000W 80+ Platinum | Custom watercooling loop (gpu+cpu)

360mm+180mm rad and 10 fans | Swiftech D5 mcp655-B

8350 is around 37-40% slower multitthreaded-wise, but 6700K is 213% more expensive (150$ vs 320$), so yeah. Price/performance is INCOMPARABLY in favor of the 8350, and it should suffice for light gaming, as you're basically stuck with two FX-4350s.

This is actually a good usage scenario for the 8350 and if you can't afford the 6700K, it's one of the best CPUs for that usage if you consider value for money.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White
