Transferring Windows OEM

General_Led

So I plan on buying a ssd here very soon and I was wondering if I can transfer windows 7 64-bit OEM to the ssd. It would be in the exact same computer just different drive. And if this is possible how would I go about doing so? Thanks

Are you looking to clone your operating system to your ssd or are you just looking to do a clean install of windows?

Clean install. I planned on putting windows on the ssd and then completely wiping my hdd and starting fresh.

Alright. Do you still have the Windows install disc?

I do.

Its really easy to do then. Once you get your ssd, mount and connect it in your computer, insert the windows disk, and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. When installing, you can also delete your existing windows install if your ready to do so.

That shouldn't be an issue. OEM versions of windows are designed to only be installed on one system as once they are activated, they are bound to the motherboard.
