I'm in the process of a mini itx build and am curious if I were to get the ASRock Z77E-ITX, which features a single x16 PCIe slot (for my graphics card) and a mini PCIe slot, if I could utilize the mini PCIe through a mini-PCIe-to-PCIe adapter to run a Elgato HD60 Pro capture card.

Alternate suggestions are welcome!

I'm curious if the adapter would slow data transfer or anything of the sort. I called Elgato and they said they don't support and hadn't even thought about trying that.

If it is a mitx system where would you even put the capture card? Most likely there wouldn't be any room inside the case.

As mpcie is only pcie x1 it might slow down transfer rates.
