first rig, thoughts/suggestions

Hi

I'm planning on building a Gaming rig for games like BF4, AC4, Skyrim. I am using a 23" 1080p monitor pa238q preferred playing at about 60 fps on med/high.

My bugdet is around 1600 usd. though its flexible if there is a good reason for it :) i live in Denmark (northern europe) and it is a bit more expensive up here :(

I have all the peripherals i need, (g710+, 6500s, g440, HD 518, some sony speakers)

my current gaming machine is laptop(msi ge60) which is not good enough for me.

oh and im going for a red and black theme and i want to overclock a bit.

I suggest getting a 7950/70 ATM. They're cheap and perform great.

I would also step up that PSU to aeound 650w. Gives you aome OC headroom and whatnots :)

As for windows, $150 is WAY too much. I would find an installation disk and use the trial for a couple months. You'll have all the features of windows for around 4 months then you have a full copy of windows that doesnt update.

just want to point out that BF4 will be heavily AMD optimized with their mantle api (and lots of other games too)

Why not get a "EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80 PLUS Gold Certified" PSU? this is fully modular and should be cheapter then the corsair unit. Also i would either opt a GTX 770 or a 7970Ghz Edition.

If you're only gaming, 8gb of RAM will suffice.

i choose corsairs RM650 PSU because of being very quiet :)

i really like Noctuas CPU cooler and went with air cooling instead, i'm just not sure if i should take single or double tower..

GPU, i really want Nvidia for shield but AMD is more bang for the buck and mantle.. i might even wait to see what maxwell have to offer.

If you want quiet, don't get Corsair fans. They aren't that quiet.
