Hey guys! this is kinda a serious matter here. i'm trying to add a third router to my modem which has 4 slots.

i currently have 2 routers attached and running fine! an ASUS Gigabit router (Router 1) and a Netgear Gigabit router(Router 2). but when i try adding another Netgear router (Router 3) in it bumps (Router 2) off the network. and i'm only having the issues with the Netgear routers. what can i do to fix this?

Note: (Router 2) is a Daisy Chain Network and slave routers below it will auto adjust to the new router's setting.

the new netgear router  (router 3)is probably on the same IP address as the old netgear router (router 2). So change the ip of 1 of the 2 netgear routers and it should work.

exemple:
they probably both are on  192.168.0.1 so just change one of them (that is not going to do the routing) to 192.168.0.2.
Or change it to 192.168.1.1 if you want both of them to do the routing and have another subnet.

Also if i where you i would turn dhcp off on all but 1 router. So that 1 router is managing all the routing, to avoid conflics

Make sure to either: Disable DHCP on the modem and set static IPs for each Router or use the Address Reservation option for the routers while leaving DHCP open if you want to connect through WiFi to the modem with mobile devices. Basically what Harjan suggested.

Also make sure that each network behind each router is different, Modem: 192.168.0.xxx, Router 1: 192.168.1.xxx, Router 2: 192.168.2.xxx, Router 3: 192.168.3.xxx, etc, otherwise you will not get any connection with the devices that have the same network addresses.
