can this camera support mic

if i got an adapter (mini usb to usb port) would i be able to use an microphone (atr 2100) with the 

HDR-CX405

 

EDIT: also is their some type of controller i can use to start it.

No to USB audio.  I don't think the camera has a IR remote accessory.

no you cant use an external mic with this

what you can do however, is to record video and audio using the camcorder
while also recording with your external mic

And when you edit the video you can sync the audio, and delete the built-in mic audio when its synced
