Hi guys, so i have been using 7zip for encrypting my files, and to my shock and horror, I just found out that my encrypted txt files( i hold passwords on them to copy and paste, for protection against key loggers) are being saved unencrypted to my windows temporary files. Literally anyone with this knowledge could find them.

Someone please help me get around this if i can, if not recommend another encryption too, (highest security possible... im a paranoid freak lol) also i do not use password managers as they use cloud, and i hate cloud as the servers can be compromised, but if anyone knows a local password manager with good encryption (aes 256 minimum) let me know............with kind regards and apologies for spelling/grammar mistakes i type too fast lol!

Dear Kurt 101, Many programs these days come with additional service such as cloud services. However they are additional (most of them), which means that if you simply download the main program you can abstain from applying to the service such as cloud or other synchronisation protocols. An example is 1Password from Algebits: https://agilebits.com/downloads

If you have a couple of passwords a simple MS Excel file might suffice which then you can secure with a password by opening 'options' when saving a file (more details: http://www.oraxcel.com/projects/encoffice/help/How_safe_is_Excel_encryption.html).

Now, if you are really into this stuff you might take a look at this website for a comparison and additional information: http://www.toptenreviews.com/software/privacy/best-password-management-software/

BTW I highly recommend to change your password each 1or 2 years or when your feel someone might have intelligence about your password, such as your password managing software or login credentials of your computer. That is.... in addition to the basic recommendation Linus and Luke had made on youtube:
