how you reactivate my key im new to this

Look on the back of your old computer, there should be a rainbow holographic sticker that has the 25 digit Windows key on it

There's a watermark in my bottom left corner of my screen that says "Activate Window go to setting to activate windows".

I recently built my new computer, i just transferred my Hard Drive that already has windows on it and some parts over.

Should i just leave the watermark there or will it just go away?

you have to reactivate with your key... windows is linked to the motherboard it is installed and activated on... if the HDD is moved to another it deactivates and you have to reactivate

It'd be a license transfer

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X | Motherboard: Intel DX79SR "Stormville" | RAM: 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series DDR3 PC3-12800 (4x 8GB) Quad-Channel | GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 970 FTW 4GB in SLI (I have Many other builds plus 100+ Macs (don't judge me)... Many specs are listed on my profile)

window 7

Go to settings like it said, there should be a button that says activate Windows. The screen will Grey out, you'll have to put in your password or just hit yes for an administrator, the screen will get blacked out and there will be a screen it says activate Windows, type it and without dashes, and your computer should be restart and be fine

It probably won't work anymore since it's past July 29th... give it a try, it won't hurt... but I don't think it'll work. still who knows? Otherwise the link may have your answer

I'm currently away from my Windows 10 computer so I can't help you there. That's what I thought the button said, but I've only done it quite a few months ago when I got a new gaming PC

The 7 and 8 keys stopped working after July 29, if it hadn't been activated before then the key won't work anymore, though Microsoft can still be called to reactivate if told that the hardware was changed or the link I supplied may also work. I haven't had this problem yet to find out how to fix it

yeah when i try to enter my product key it says "you are running windows 10 home, the product key enter cannot be used to activate this edition"

so... if i downgrade back to windows 7 home pre and try to enter the code will that work?

or just call Microsoft.

I was figuring that's what it would say. Try the link first, if it doesn't work for you (like you haven't gotten the anniversary update yet) then call microsoft and say you had upgraded to 10 when it was free and you recently had a hardware change and would like to reactivate your existing install. and downgrading wouldn't do anything at this point... sorta... too much of a headache either way, just give them a call if the link doesn't work

yeah i will call them tomorrow, ill ask i "had upgraded to 10 when it was free and you(i) recently had a hardware change and would like to reactivate your existing install. " and would i just reuse my old product key from my old computer or they will just give me a new one?

That's a good question, Not sure about that, I'd say the old one. They'll walk you though the process
