headset and speakers simultaneously?

Hey guys.

Right now I got my headset connected to the back of my PC and my speakers to the front panelt of the case. Both do play sound simultaneously when I turn the speakers on.

I dont really like the cable going over my case to the front panel, so I was looking around for different solutions, since I wanted to upgrade my speakers and headphones anyways.

I thought connecting both, USB headset and speakers to the back of my PC should work, but according to some forums this wont be the case since you would have to switch between the audio output devices manually every time you want to use speakers or headphones.

My GF has the same setup, she is using a programm that lets her hotkey the switch function.

This however does bug out sometimes, resulting in audio of some games and voice programs not to put out the sound through the correct output source.

So, if USB headset and speakers dont really work well together, how about using speakers and normal headphones, connected to an audio splitter or something like that, leaving both devices connected to the rear (back of the case / motherboard) audio port?

Does such splitter exist and will it work?

Just for clarification, I am listening to audio through my headset 95% of the time, but when I feel I want to listen to music and turn up the volume, I just wanna turn on my speakers, making them playback the music. My headphones dont need to output the sound simultaneously, they can be muted, as long as they un-mute when I turn off the speakers.

I hope you got what I am looking for, thank you for your help.

EDIT: I am running Windows 10.

Yeah but I dont wanna choose a device for each program, sometimes I want to show my GF a youtube or facebook video, therefor they need to be played back via speakers.

When shes not around I want them to watch by myself with my headphones on. So setting devices for each program does not fix my "problem".

You don't have to. Using the the VAC I listed would means everything will be output to all the devices you want at the same time without the need to setup per program.
