How many fans do I need? :/

thatweirdguy69

Some cases go with 1 pre-installed fan, other with up to 5. The difference in price isn't huge. So first of all, I want to know if those fans are crap and I'll have to replace them anyways. For example, there is AeroCool Sixth Element with 2 140x140 fans and even LEDs worth around 45$ and there is Cooler Master K350 with 1 120x120 fan worth 55$ (or another example: Deepcool Kendomen TI, it has 5 120x120 fans at the price of ~70$, when Zalman Z12 only has 2 fans and is worth 87$). How is that supposed to make any sense? Secondly, how many do I even really need? Is 1/2 pre-installed fans going to be enough? I'm not going to overclock my stuff, but still. :/ (nothing crazy, rx 480 and i7-4790K as main parts)

It really depends on how much you want to cool it in the end because you could add as many as you want, but 2 would be good or you could do 3 to be sure (1x In, 1x Out, 1x over the processor). Just saying I'm not really good with cooling but from what I know 2 or 3 should be enough.

You dont really need more than 2, 3 if you really want, 4 is just wasteful.

Hot air goes up so unless you have a case that is airtight the heat will escape fans just help it move which can help the overall temperature of the system.
