So i've got some free ecc memory and i'm planing to build myself a new computer. I dont really know what motherboard to get for this memory as I would like to use this free memory that I've got. The model of the memory is: Nanya 8gb 2rx4 Pc3-10600r Ddr3-1333mhz Reg Ram Nt8gc72b4ng0nl-cg

u need a xeon cpu like an e3 1231v3 to support ecc and then a 1150 motherboard with an intel server chipset like c222 224 or 226, to take advantage of ecc. BUT if u dont use the ram for a server or so ecc is completely worthless when u dont need 100 percent uptime. ECC REg ram wont work on normal motherboards, it simply wont start, but you can sell it for normal ram, bc intel server boards are really expensive for what they have.
