1: how long should I leave my PC unplugged for before I make the GPU swap.

2: should I uninstall my 780ti drivers before I swap the card for a 1080?

3: will the 1080 get me hoes

4: I'll show a pic of my power cables and can you tell me what I can use? I may still have a single 8 pin connector but I don't think I do.

All you have to do is unplug your pc from the wall and ground your self to your case. Its probably good practice to uninstall the drivers for the 780Ti. Depending on what version of the 1080 you get it could just be a single 8 Pin PCIE or it could be a 8 Pin and a 6 Pin

God the flash makes it look super dusty.

So so could I just use the plugs I got and just let the 6 pin dangle?

There are three different types of 8 pin connectors on a PSU, make sure you have the right one. 4+4 pin ATX and the 8 pin EPS cables won't work, they are for providing power to the CPU. Most PSUs if they don't have an 8 pin PCI-E connector, will probably have a 6+2 pin PCI-E connector, that allows you to break away two pins if you have a card that doesn't need an 8 pin connector. Looks like you can just let the 6 pin dangle or hide it somewhere and plug that 8 pin PCIE right in.

Uh, don't they use the same driver across all of their cards? Just touch your case, don't walk/move-slide your feet, unplug your card, plug in your new one, and you're done. :D

Thats true too. With my 1070 I did not bother uninstalling my 770 drivers and just updated to the new 1070 drivers and it worked fine.

The dusty picture has a 6 pin and 8 pin. Could I just use that set and zip tie down  the 6 pin?

You could use the 8 pin or you could use that 6pin with that 2 pin to make it a 8pin. Looks like from the picture the 6 pin and 8 pin connector are connected together? If so you cant really hide it but zip tie it down. But if the 6 pin and 8pin are separate you can route the 6 pin into the cable management area of your case.

Yeah thats gonna be a little tricky. Feel free to use whatever connector you want and than try to hide the other connectors somehow.

Thats weird because on my Corsair CX-750 my 8 Pin and 6+2 pin are completely separate unless you have more connectors with that PSU that are just a single 8 pin or 6+2 pin that are completely separate from each other.

Can you link me to a picture of what a single 8pin would look like that you're talking about?

its a 8 Pin PCIE connector with nothing else attached to it.  Or you can use just the 6+2 pin PCIE connector which acts just like a 8 pin.
