Here's the situation. Big house. Netgear R6200. The signal struggles to reach the most populated areas(to be expected because of 5ghz). Without buying a new router, I want to increase the signal for better throughput.
Which option would be better for cost/throughput.

1. Powerline/AP. 50 down from ISP. Would get a 500mbps powerline kit, and a UniFi AC Lite AP. Would put that in the most populated area.

2. 5ghz range extender. Plop a few of these around. Main concern is actively switching between APs. This isn't a widely support feature, and would sort of eliminate the point if a device clung to one AP.

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

With powerlines you've gotta check your installation: For example I have two separate 110v circuits in my house. Since most electronic equipment is 110v this is fine but with 2 separate circuits we can connect 220v AC units externally to both circuits at the same time.

However, since this means that there's 2 independent circuits on my house one for each floor, power line networking is basically pointless for me since well I wanna extend upstarts I'd need to get a bridge upstairs with a cable and at that point I might as well wire the whole fucking house with ethernet so I just use wireless.

I'd try a wifi extender one should be enough to get decent speeds.
