I used bclk overclock so now i cant read temps in windows. any ideas on how to read the direct temp from the bios which actually works but from windows?

I'm assuming you have a Skylake CPU?

Sigh... so I guess you went ahead and OCed it without even knowing the downsides. Shame on you. I'll list them for you real quick.

When you do Skylake locked BCLK OCing:

  1. You lose AVX support.
  2. You lose your core temperature readings.
  3. You lose all power saving features.
  4. Cache runs slower.
  5. You have to run an older Bios, which means missing on features and fixes (unless yours can manually chose the microcode, but those are a minority).
  6. Windows can push an update at any time and screw your OC (unlikely, but possible).
  7. There was something else, but I just don't remember what it was right now...

Now you tell me, why can't you read your temps? Why is it?

I did know the downsides. Is it a sin to want to not pay as much and have better performance. I am just trying to work around the temp thing. I would much rather have a great overclock than the ability to read temps..

Thank you, you're very helpful.

I also happen to have asus mobo so I know my way around their website. And one more thing I should probably add is I'm not sure how well it will work with your bclk overclock.

Edit: I don't think it will break any of your hardware though.
