Build help and recommendations

Last year in August i bought an AMD asus radeon 390 GPU and the corsair CX750 semi-modular PSU. I was looking at getting a new case, motherboard, cpu, ram, hard drive, ssd, and cpu cooler.

The pc would be mainly for gaming and im looking at spending between $1200-1500CAD to upgrade.

It's not everything i know I wasn't sure what kind of hard drive, ssd, or ram. But i had some in mind. I was thinking seagate hard drive around 2tb-3tb, ssd was samsung evo just for the OS and corsair 16GB of ram.

I will only be running one monitor and don't need any peripherals

If anybody can recommend anything other than what i listed and give some input on if everything would be compatible that would be great. This would be my first pc build.

In all honesty, I recommend selling that CX750 and getting an 80+ Gold or Platinum unit. Your budget allows for a better PSU. This list below is a Black and Red build with a finishing touch of CableMod custom cables just because you can. Overclockable i5 with AIO liquid cooler to keep it frosty. 32GB of RAM because you can. 250GB SSD and 3TB HD for storage. Using your R9 390, as it would be a waste to get rid of a $300+ graphics card. You can always get a new one in 1 or 2 years when you get tired of it.

Looks really good, I would just have the Z170 Extreme 4+ in there, great board for overclocking if he plans to play with that.
