Best camera under $600?

Looking into getting a better camera for photography and videography instead of using a phone. It can either be a DSLR, A Micro Four Thirds or Mirrorless. Any suggestions?

Since my wife and I wanted to do lots of travelling, and not lug around a clunky camera, we bought ourselves a Sony HX50V "Travel zoom" camera with 30x zoom.

Not sure if that tickles your fancy but it's great for travelling

There are not that many bad cameras, but there are a ton of bad photographers.

Well not everyone is born to be good at things.
