144hz 1440p with a 970 strix OC?

Rosa

I currently have a 60hz ips 1080p monitor and I was looking to upgrade because I recently tried a 144hz monitor and I liked it a lot for the games I play (rocket league and csgo). I get around 225 frames in rocket league at 1080p and 300 or so in csgo but I was wondering if it is worth getting 1440p instead of 1080p when I purchase my next monitor. How much would the performance decrease be in frames in rocket league? I dont run max settings because I dont like them that much but would I still be getting around 100+ with 1440p? I am going to upgrade to a 1070 strix OC in a couple months, but would it be worth the 144hz 1440p over 1080p? Also, if I got a 1440p monitor, would it be worth investing in a g-sync monitor so if I am not getting 144hz out of my 970 with 1440p it will look smoother? Thanks

1440p,144Hz,G-Sync = Baby's But

I'm a educated fool with money on my mind.

They say i got to learn but nobody here to teach me,if they can't understand it how can they reach me

Power and the money, money and the power, minute after minute, hour after hour

My Motivation

It all depends on your budget. I would say it is either 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz. Both have ups and downs. A decent 1440p 144Hz might cost you an arm and a leg.
