1. Budget & Location

500 us dollars and I live in North America

2. Aim

To have a better gaming pc since I usually record and render at least 1 or 2 vids a day.

3. Monitors

1 Monitor, runs 1080p

5. Why are you upgrading?

I want a better pc experience so I can game and be able to run most games on high. My current gpu is a nvida 720 and ever since the recent friver update, I knew I need either a rx 480 or gtx 1060. I have yet to decide since I'm new to pc gaming. I know I need another stick of ram, gpu, and maybe a new cpu but since I have a i5-4443 3.1 ghz. I plan to complete my pc upgrades by  christmas.

maybe this?........... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104174&ignorebbr=1

prices will change by the time you start shopping for real.

the cards....... either would be good. as the year passes there will be more from the partners to choose from as far as cooling and performances. 480-get the 8gig card. 4 may be enough for most but not always. 1060........ whatever you choose/like.

Processor looks good to me, new graphics card and power supply will be all you need for now, and if you need a better processor you can get a 5th gen I5 and a cheap lga1151 mobo later. Ask me if you want some exact parts.

4 gigs is enough to run 1080p max graphics in dark souls 3.

Thanks, I should get hired soon, maybe tomorrow or by friday. My priorites for upgrading as of now is ram, gpu, cooler, then maybe a new cpu

How much ram do you have right now? 8 gigs is what I'd recommend for multitasking/gaming

I have one 8 gb stick, but want another one

Do you ever go above the ram you have? More ram than you need will NOT speed up your computer.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/8QC6RG These are the parts I recommend for your budget. Amd doesnt support any kind of 3D (anaglyph or 3D tv) so I regret going with them.

Ok let me explain this to you

Ram is short for Random Access Memory, it stores what you're doing at the moment, and as long as you never exceed it, upgrading to more will not speed you up at all in any application whatsoever (unless you upgrade to faster ram) You can check how much ram you're using in the task manager (right click the taskbar and click start task manager, then click on the performance tab, run a game or render something and see if you're running out.)
