I've essentially finalised my new setup. The only component I'm currently waiting on is a new GTX 980 TI. Reason being is, my old one died not too long ago - which is why I'm currently running one monitor not three.

The main uses for my setup mainly involve programming and development, I don't game all too much, it's just nice to have that bit of power to do so if I feel like it.

Specifications:

  • I7 4790 @ 3.60 GHz
  • 16 GB of generic DDR4
  • 4 x 3TB WD Green
  • 120 GB Kingston 'ssdNOW' (as a boot drive/programs)
  • Corsair CX750 PSU
  • (soon to be) GTX 980 TI

I would get an SSD from Adata or Sandisk. Had too many problems with those Kingstons. And probably upgrade to a 256GB SSD.

Any reason for the Greens?

Hi there Aidan :)

The setup really looks great and well placed!

As @ARikozuM asked, is there any particular reason to why you are using those WD Green drives? Are you running a RAID array?

What exact applications are you using?

Post back if you want suggestions for improvement :)
