So I noticed there is tickrate mentioned on many BF4 servers and Dice wants all BF1 PC servers to be 60Hz.

Does it mean they lock ingane FPS to 60 ???

No, just that you (in theory) should have better hitreg and not get shot behind walls. I mean they might lock down the fps but as far as my understanding of it is, the server tickrate doesn't have an influence on your fps/monitor refreshrate

That is so weird though. Back in the day u never heard about this shit.

Now its tickrate everywhere. Is it because nowadays bullets drop and travel ?

I playedBF4  on 60tickrate last week but still got shut behind corners. So that's pretty low standard to go for...

Maybe it's your connection then? I have a similarly spec'd system like you and it happened to me quite a few times on servers that weren't exactly close by (mostly on French and Russian servers)

*edit: But then again, it also happens wayy too often that I just shoot a whole mag into an enemy without having any hitreg at all so it might just be that Battlefield 4 still isn't nearly as 'fixed' as they want it to be xD

German server, 50ping, no spikes. But it's not just me, people complain about it all the time in BF4.

Keep in mind that while 60 Hz is double the tickrate of BF4 at launch and therefore a huge improvement, many highly competitive FPS games have tickrates in the 120 Hz range. Quake Live, CS:GO, etc… 60 Hz is more like a minimum for this sort of game.

Additionally, there's a lot of factors that go into the perception that you've been shot around a corner. Maybe your ping is poor. Maybe the shooter's ping was poor. Maybe he actually got you in the foot three nanoseconds before you disappeared around that corner. Maybe the kill cam is screwing up and you weren't really shot around a corner, even though it looks like it. Maybe there's something going on server-side. And so forth. Or maybe the tickrate should still be higher than 60 Hz.

The reason the topic keeps coming up recently is because for various reasons the popular old games didn't have a lot of issues with this. A couple of newer games have had very visible client-server sync issues, and it appears gameplay is being sacrificed for more marketable features. Players get angry and take to the forums.
