Also, as for keyboard, I don't know if you went with that one out of experience, but the CoolerMaster CMStorm Devastator Bundle is really friggin' cheap . You might want to look at it.

In addition, unless you really ran out of budget space, I think some sort of watercooler like the NZXT Kraken or the Corsair H110i or similar would be a lot better than a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo. You could probably get some overclock of that 'K' chip with the watercooler too, and if you do go with the bundle you could probably get the watercooler.

Here's a better one: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/4KDQZ8

Changed the Hyper 212 Evo to a Corsair H110i

Changed the Samsung 850 Evo to a PNY CS1311 which has 10 GB less storage but costs $30 less

Changed the PSU to one suggested above, because it's pretty good

Changed the keyboard to the Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator Bundle, because it's way cheaper and pretty good

Idk, Evo is much faster than the PNY and also much better built with a good warranty. And the h100i is pretty expensive atm, it's usually $99-109.

But if he goes with the PNY he might as well get a 480gb SSD for $99 as its only $10 more than the SAMSUNG.

It doesn't really matter that the H110i is kinda pricey, because that whole build is still under his $1400 budget, peripherals and all.

According to manufacturer specs, the PNY SSD is actually faster than the 850 EVO, with the PNY having a read of 550 mb/s and write of 520 mb/s, and the 850 EVO having a read of 540 mb/s and a write of 520 mb/s. Not to mention, while the 850 EVO has a higher read IOPS, the PNY has a higher write IOPS.

I'd recommend you stick with the 240 GB, because even if you switch to a Corsair H100i, you won't have any budget for a good 480 GB SSD. Here's the final list that I've drafted up for you: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/MRDQZ8
