I have no idea why this is the case.

So I built my very first system a while back. Got a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro off of Kinguin. Every ran fine. Cortana was there, but I never really used it (or her) much.

A week later, I try using the search bar. As I'm about to type, I see an error message labelled: Before I can help, you'll need to go to Settings and change your speech language to one I can speak.

I've actually seen this error message on my old HP laptop which I used to use before this new machine. That system had actually been a refurbished unit, so I had assumed that it was a result of buying a recertified product. Now I see this message again on my new PC. It was fine until just today. No matter what I do, I can't seem to be able to fix this.

I live in Canada, and I currently have English (US) and English (Canada) as my languages in Windows. Cortana can't speak English? WTF? I've tried  $manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest in Powershell. I've tried ending the "Cortana" task in Task Manager. I've tried downloading language packs, and I've tried switching between different versions of English. Nothing seems to work. Please help. It was working fine before - I have no idea why it's not now.
