I remember seeing an article, where a nice gentlemen was able to overclock the RX 480 to ~1500MHz.  He achieved this using a watercooled gpu cooler and sautered a mod to make it have more power.  If i remember correctly it was just as good over a bit better than a stock 980. I also remember seeing something about the 1060 performing about stock 980 performance with reference founders edition cooler.
