Need Wireless Suggestion!

Hi friends!

So i've been using ethernet over power for the past year or so and it is honestly pretty disappointing in our house. The power lines in our house are no doubt old, and the signal comes and goes pretty periodically. Not to mention, I get like 5 mb's download speed over EoP where as on my iPhone I get around 70 mb's down... pretty nuts.

Anyway, we use an Airport Extreme in our house (the newest model) and there isn't much interference in our place when considering walls and what not.

I'm using a P8Z77-V Deluxe (old, right?) running Win10 Pro, and basically what i'm getting at is what would be my best bet for pretty consistent signal strength, and faster speeds? I play LoL pretty casually as well as other games like CSGO, so a low, steady ping is pretty important to me to.

What would be my best bet to fix this speed and connectivity issue? I'm not ballin' on a budget, but I am in college and have this problem at home, as well as my place at school where we use EoP as well, so I'd really like to get a wireless solution to fix this.

Plugging into the router isnt much of an option for me (too far away and would leave a lovely cable strung all over the place) and for a wireless PCiE card, what is the fast standard I can get? 802.11AC correct?
