Hi! I put this build together for my new PC. I am going to spend about 550$, and buy a GPU later. I am going to use it for some gaming, office and occasional video editing. Like a multimedia PC. I have no plans for 4K, i have a Samsung office 1080p monitor. What would you recommend to change?

The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.

i'd recommend this for video editing, get OS from reddit for $20-30.

@elvaldo03 It took you 10 hours to realise you forgot something, oh well.

When you say occasional video edditing, I'm assuming you mean maybe once a week or less. In which case I don't think you should get the CPU @herman mcpootis suggests.

The CPU you have in your build is great, wouldn't change it.

MBO isn't bad, but you must see for yourself if the IO you get is all you need/want and if you're happy with just 2 RAM slots.

Pick 1 stick of 8GB RAM or just 2x8GB.

You don't need an HDD? Just the 250 GB SSd?

Get windows 10 key at kinguin for about 20 dollars.

the extra threads will benefit the video editing, and that cpu is still plenty good for modern games, considering its only 10% worse than skylake.

@herman mcpootis I know, but as I said, if he/she only eddits once a week or less, why would he/she need a CPU which is better for edditing? Sure, if he/she eddits everyday he/she is much better of with the Xeon, but if not, it's just stupid for the extra 40 dollars. With that you can also get the 6600K and if he/she spends the money from windows 10 key on an Z170 Mbo and then you're even better of than with the 6500.
