Mobile Android on a Raspberry Pie?

Go to solution Solved by KuJoe,

If you want to run Android don't get a Raspberry Pi, grab yourself an ODroid device instead. I have a few of them and they rock, the Android support is great and it works with all of my TVs and WIFI adapters also. If you want something in the same price range as a Raspberry Pi but more powerful than get an ODroid C1, C1+, or C2 and for better performance get a eMMC card with Android pre-installed.

Hello,

I am wanting to make a TV box (yes I know I could just buy one of those chinese android tv boxes, but I want to do something fun) that I can hook up to my tv to watch movies and content on. I want to be able to go to websites as well as download apps to watch content, hence my reasoning to want the mobile version. Is it possible to install a mobile version of android on a raspberry pie? I don't know 2 cents about a Raspberry Pie, so I apologize in advance if what I'm asking for is stupid and out of question.

Thanks!

Zack

Theres like 3 different versions; lennybruce, some chromium variation, and I think some dev was trying to make the android x86 work back on the ARM

Screen support is kinda hit and miss as is wifi support, but you can also try Kodi/openelec and raspbmc

Tho raspian can use vlc to play movies and the web support is decent(no Netflix on linux to my knowledge tho)
