Contemplating - Rode NT-USB

Since starting up my channel and doing the first video (available in the spoiler section below), I've realized that my poor Canon Powershot SX50HS (yes, poor man here) is not gonna cut it using it's built-in microphone. So it is time for me to seriously look at an "overhead" audio solution.

Spoiler

They finally let me out of my cage...

Now my current idea is to get a Rode NT-USB Microphone and then attach that to a Rode PSA1 Boom pole and SMR shock mount to have the microphone at just above camera view and then capture the image using an AverMedia CV710 USB3.0 FHD 60fps capture device and then mix/record the inputs using OBS.

It'd work fine.

I do have an AT2020USB and Samson SP01 shockmount that I'd be willing to part with if you're interested, if not, the rode nt-usb is still a great choice, but will likely cost a bit more.

On second hand, I don't have a clue how much shipping to Australia would cost so...

Update:

I had a interesting idea... my iPhone 6S Plus takes better video than my Canon and also has better audio quality... so here's my new idea....

Rode VideoMic Go Directional Mic for general recording

Rode SmartLAV+ Lapel Mic for conversational recording

Manfrotto TwistGrip Clamp for holding my phone and also mounting the directional microphone

Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2-section Mini Tripod for desktop recording

All in all just under AU$ 305... free delivery.

Ordered and awaiting delivery.

Will do unboxing and video review on them when they come ;)uuid-1800px-inriverimage_383354.jpg
