hey guys, so I accidentally gave my phone a bath in the Mediterranean today and don't expect it to recover (I have it sitting in rice but still... seawater).  I was just wondering what people here would suggest I get to replace it.  I use my phone for some light browsing of the web, facebook, as well as calls, texts, and communication apps (WhatsApp, Skype, etc.).  my  current phone is a cheap android phone.  I live in Haifa, Israel, and would also like suggestions on where to buy a relatively cheap phone relatively quickly as well (mail service to my dorm on campus kinda sucks, so I will use it if it saves me a decent amount of money, but I would rather pay a bit more if I can get the phone faster).

I got my Nexus 5x on sale a few weeks ago for $250 USD. Best phone at that price point for sure. There's really not much that's cheaper than this if you want a modern phone (<1 year old). I even looked up speed comparisons between the 5x and a iPhone 6s, and they're literally identical. But looking it up, it looks like they're back to $349, which brings me to my next point.

If you can go up to $400, the OnePlus 3 is the current front runner. Probably the best bang for your buck right now.

Past that I would get the Galaxy S7 for ~$700.

No idea how to help about shopping in Israel however. Don't forget to check your local classified ads/craigslist/eBay. Used phones aren't bad at all.

I just bought a Honor 5x off newegg for $199 and has been awesome. I came from a lg risio so I hoped/expected it to be a world difference and it was. My only issue is that the wifi doesnt pick up the 5ghz bandwidth. Other than that it runs awesomely.

sorry, I guess I didn't make it clear, $400 is probably way past my budget especially if it is that price in the US since electronics are much more expensive here and I am living on a severely limited budget (you know the stereotypes about college grad students? well they are all true)
